AIRvatar System: A Framework for Analyzing Virtual Identities

AIRvatar is a system that telemetrically collects and analyzes fine-grained data on users’ virtual identities and the process used to create them. It has been used to collect data such as session-based time durations and click events during the process of avatar customization and to analyze both avatar customization data and social media profiles.
AIRvatar's extended capabilities enable understanding relationships between social identities, cultural values, and virtual identity technologies (e.g., online profiles and avatars). It utilizes AI approaches including archetypal analysis and topic modeling, as well as clustering images based on visual features and emerging colors.
