Wall Street Journal Takes Look at New Research from Andrew Lo
The Wall Street Journal has featured new research from CSAIL Principal Investigator Andrew Lo, a professor in the Sloan School of Management and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and CSAIL graduate student William Li that sheds light on the authorship of unsigned judicial opinions. Using machine learning algorithms, researchers provide new evidence that the likely authors of the Obamacare joint dissent are Justices Kennedy and Scalia.
“Contrary to some of the most intriguing speculation following the Supreme Court’s June 2012 healthcare decision, Chief Justice John Roberts did not write both the majority and dissenting opinions, new academic research concludes,” wrote Jess Bravin for The Wall Street Journal.
