Incoming PI Honored By ACM

Costis Daskalakis, who will be a CSAIL faculty member beginning this fall, has just been awarded the 2008 Doctoral Dissertation Award by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Daskalakis is the second CSAIL PI to have been honored by the ACM this year. In March, Professor Barbara Liskov was announced as the winner of this year’s ACM Turing Award. The Doctoral Dissertation Award, sponsored by Google, is given annually to the author of the best doctoral dissertation in computer science and engineering; it is accompanied by a $20,000 prize.
