Non-invasive imaging can facilitate earlier diagnosis and improved
phenotyping of patients with cardiovascular disease to better gauge
prognosis and enable a personalized approach for
treatment. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), provides a
comprehensive assessment of cardiovascular structure, function, flow,
perfusion and viability. Recent advances in CMR also provide accurate
information about interstitial diffuse fibrosis, inflammation, and
scar. In this talk, I will give an overview of potential role of AI in
cardiac MR; I will cover opportunities and challenges of automating
image analysis and deep learning-based risk prediction and disease
classification.
