Graduate Student
I am an EECS PhD candidate working in the Robust Robotics Group, advised by Nicholas Roy and supported by a NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
I am interested in helping autonomous robots perceive and understand 3D shape as well as humans do, and am currently focused on improving low-level vision using higher-level contextual and cognitive cues. In pursuit of this goal, I am working on sensor fusion for robot vision algorithms using estimates of uncertainty. I am also exploring methods for conveying scene and task semantics from higher-level cognition system blocks to lower-level perceptual ones, drawing inspiration from reciprocal and lateral information flow in the primate brain.
