Engadget has featured new research from Brian Williams’ Model-based Embedded and Robotics Systems Group at CSAIL, focusing on the group’s work to increase collaboration between robots and humans.
In the first of two videos, CSAIL graduate student Peng Yu explains his work with autonomous flying, demonstrating a system developed by MERS to control quadcopters through voice and hand gestures. Yu also demonstrated a new simulation of a futuristic air taxi, which would allow for transport via an autonomous airplane that MERS envisions operating like a taxi.
