Nasro Min Allah
BiographyDr. Nasro Min-Allah is a Visiting Scientist at MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), and a Visiting Faculty at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) of MIT since 2012. He obtained a PhD in Real-time & Embedded Systems from the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (GUCAS), P.R China in 2008. He received his Undergraduate and Master degrees in Electronics and Information Technology in 1998 and 2001 respectively from Quaid-i-Azam University and Hamdard University, Pakistan. He has been enjoying a distinguished carrier both in research and academics. He is the author of 42 research articles and book chapters published in ranking conferences, impact factor journals and book series such as Springer, Elsevier, and John Wiley & Sons etc. His research interests include software pipelining, chromatic scheduling, reliable computing and real-time systems.
He is also the Director of Gree n Computing and Communication Lab and has been actively involved with famous research centers around the globe such as CSAIL at MIT, Real-Time Research Group at University of York, the Green Computing and Communications Laboratory (NDSU, USA), and the Embedded Systems Research Group at Chinese Academy of Sciences etc. In 2009-12, he served COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT, Pakistan) as head of the Department of Computer Science, CIIT Islamabad Campus. He assisted CIIT in developing international linkages with North Dakota State University (NDSU, USA) and University of Malaysia (UM, Malaysia). Under these initiatives CIIT has made arrangements for placing hundreds of its faculty members/students in top institutions of higher studies abroad. He is also the winner of following three most prestigious awards: i)-CIIT Golden Medallion for Innovation (CIMI, cash: PKR 100,000) in 2009, ii)- Winner of the Best Mobile Innovation in Pakistan (BMIP, cash: $10,000) in year 2010, and iii) recipient of the Best University Teacher Award from the Government of Pakistan in 2011.
