APT Project (Automatically Programmed Tools) for numerical control (1956)

MIT-led joint effort with Aircraft Industries Association companies; led to ANSI/ISO Standard. MIT's first Government/Industry/University joint effort. Precursor to CAD Project's AED effort. Continues as CAM-I, Computer-Aided Manufacturing - International.
