Next Generation Humanitarian Technology

Are you interested in working with humanitarian organizations and using technology to create a positive social change as well as help with disaster management? Come work with researchers from MIT CSAIL and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) and contribute to the next generation of humanitarian technology. Projects include using and extending APIs provided by the UN such as ReliefWeb and Humanitarian ID to develop mobile/Web apps for relief workers, adding support for Twillo like libraries for sending SMS alerts easily during disasters, using Cordova to develop multi-platform mobile apps, developing template mobile apps that can be customized by different organizations, and many more. Successful projects may be made available for use across the UN and its partners. This project will be co-supervised by Andrej Verity and Yaelle Link of United Nations.

Pre-requisites
Web development experience is required and knowledge of mobile app development is a plus.
