Google's delivery-drone project helmed by CSAIL's Nick Roy

Google X has just unveiled what was previously one of its most top-secret "Moonshot" projects to date: creating a fleet of self-flying delivery planes.

At the helm of Project Wing is CSAIL researcher Nicholas Roy, who has been on a two-year sabbatical to work on the initiative.

The "delivery drones" could be used for everything from delivering emergency supplies to giving people the ability to rent items briefly before getting them picked up to be sent to the next user.
