Rinard To Win ACM-ICPC Coaching Award

Electrical engineering Professor Martin Rinard will be the winner of a coaching honor this April at the International Collegiate Programming Contest. The competition, which has taken place for over thirty years, is designed to challenge the best and brightest young minds in computer science to solve a computational problem collectively in just five hours. Professor Rinard, who has coached teams at MIT since 1997, says his biggest reward is working with the students themselves. “The talent level is completely off the charts. I have always been amazed at the talent, ability, and dedication of the students who try out for the team.” The award will be presented at this year’s finals in Stockholm, Sweden.
