Expanding the Potential of Multicore Computing

In the quest to maintain a continuous doubling of computing power, CSAIL is leading the way, thanks to a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Led by CSAIL Professor Anant Agarwal, a team of 19 MIT researchers has joined forces on the Angstrom project, which is dedicated to building and creating the computer chip architectures of the future.

MIT News is currently running a five-part series on CSAIL’s research with multicore chips, which chronicles the cutting edge work underway at the lab. Check out the first four parts in the series here, and check back soon for the fifth installment.
