Rivest Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award

Professor Ronald L. Rivest has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the RSA Conference, a global seminar for information security professionals. Rivest, the Viterbi Professor of Computer Science at MIT and a leader of the Cyrptography and Information Security Group at CSAIL, was honored for his work with public key cryptography.
Professors Rivest, Adi Shamir and Leonard Adleman are credited with developing the RSA algorithm, an encryption method that operates through key generation, encryption and decryption, and is widely credited with having a significant impact on ecommerce.
