Seven years ago, Dr. Nitzberg and Prof. Alan Yuille (UCLA) started Blindsight to make assistive devices for the blind and visually impaired, applying the latest techniques in machine vision.
So far, Blindsight has begun work on 3 devices with SBIR grant support from the National Eye Institute. This talk will describe the devices, the problems they aim to solve, the machine vision that makes them work, and the grant program that makes such projects possible.
