Relevant URL: This talk will be a summary of my dissertation research conducted
in Princeton. Roughly, there will be two parts. The first part will be
concerned about the theory of entropy based multi-modal image registration.
I will propose a novel algorithm based on a Minimum Spanning Tree similarity
metric that yields a fast, affine multi-modal registration. Then, I will
discuss a method to incorporate prior information from pre-aligned images
into this framework. Next, I will introduce a new entropy-based similarity
measure (namely, level-set entropy) that is suitable for certain multi-modal
non-rigid registration problems. The second part of the talk will focus on a
specific scientific application: the functional registration of the human
cerebral cortex using fMRI. I will discuss the details of our algorithm and
show some exciting results.
