Applying to MITMIT is split into two major components--academics and research. Faculty teach through their academic departments, such as EECS (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science), Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Aeronautics and Astronautics, to name a few. Faculty who have similar research interests often join a research lab or center, such as CSAIL. Research Labs and Centers do not directly admit undergraduate students. MIT's admissions web site is http://web.mit.edu/admissions/ . This is the best place to go if you would like to apply to MIT or are looking for information on how to get ready for an MIT education. Once you have applied and been admitted, we will be very happy to talk to you about UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) opportunities at the lab |
