FISCAL OFFICER: (HQ)

Description:

As a member of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) Headquarters, performs comprehensive financial management of the Laboratory's sponsored activities with an annual research volume of over $40M. Has project management responsibilities on major lab initiatives, involving multi-year, multi-million dollar research projects with multiple PI's. Works with the Assistant Director and Sr. Fiscal Officer to develop and document standard CSAIL operations policies related to financial review and control. Oversees the preparation, review, and submission of government, industrial, foundation and other organizational proposals. Ensures compliance with agency program announcement requirements and MIT's policies and procedures. Prepares standard and non standard reports and financial analyses for PI's and senior management. Supervises two fiscal team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Three to five years' related experience with federal contracts and/or financial administration experience in a nonprofit organization preferred. Strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving experience and excellent fiscal forecasting experience required. Knowledge of enterprise financial systems, grants management tools and multidimensional databases a plus. Desire to cultivate strong working relationships with Principal Investigators and a customer service orientation. Excellent organizational and communication skills and attention to detail. Supervisory experience helpful. Should be able to work both on a team and independently and enjoy working in a fast-paced and challenging environment with people at all levels. Must be proficient in the use of Excel and Word. MIT experience with SAP and Coeus a plus.
