If you are interested in MIT, please visit the Institute’s web site and we highly recommend a visit to the MIT Museum if you are in Cambridge. General campus tours are coordinated through the MIT Information Center. People interested in the MIT Stata Center are encouraged to walk through the public spaces of the building. A self-guided tour is available at the Information Desk on the first floor.

Tours of CSAIL

Housed in the distinctive Stata Center, designed by visionary architect Frank Gehry, CSAIL’s facilities are typically a flurry of activity. With several hundred research projects going on at any given time, our people are very busy and even our hallways quickly become collaboration spaces. For that reason, we enforce certain restrictions:

   1. All tour requests must be submitted at least TWO WEEKS in advance.

   2. All tours run 45-60 minutes. All tours begin at 10am unless otherwise specified.

   3. The standard tour consists of a half hour walkthrough of the public portion of the lab, followed by a half hour slideshow presentation of various projects. Educational groups take precedence.

   4. Access to private labs is restricted; standard tours do not include any private lab or research space.

   5. Though a limited number of scheduled tours are held, a self-guided tour is available at our Information Desk in the lobby.
